Albany Bancorp, Inc. of Albany Kentucky, is a multi-bank holding company formed in January 1993. Presently the corporation owns two commercial banks: First & Farmers Bank and the First National Bank. The company operates 12 bank locations in Pulaski, Adair, Cumberland and Clinton Counties and employs approximately 145 people.

 First & Farmers Bank, located in Albany & Somerset, KY has 8 bank locations and employs approximately 100 people. First & Farmers was formed in February 2004 as a result of the acquisition of 6 bank locations of Union Planters Bank in Somerset, and merging with Citizens Bank of Albany. Citizens Bank was formed in 1898 and joined the holding company when it was formed in 1993. First & Farmers Bank was the original charter of the Farmer Bank formed in Somerset in 1818. First & Farmers Bank controls 56% of the company’s assets.

 The First National Bank has 4 bank locations and employs approximately 60 people. First National Bank was formed in 1903 and joined the holding company in 1997, and as recently as 2001, the Bank of Cumberland, Burkesville, KY joined by merging with First National Bank. First National Bank controls 44% of the company’s assets.
